Company Registration
Company Registration in Zimbabwe: Requirements, Costs and Next Steps
Starting a business involves more than obtaining a registration document. This guide explains how to prepare for company registration in Zimbabwe and how to plan the compliance work that may follow.
Choose a registration route before preparing documents
Start with the people involved, ownership arrangements, intended activities and future plans. A private business corporation (PBC) and a private limited company are different structures; the most suitable option depends on your circumstances. Do not choose only because an advertised package appears cheaper.
Explore PBC registration support and private limited company registration support, or ask a consultant to assess your intended structure. If you already have a registered entity, explain that before starting a new registration; company re-registration support may be the relevant enquiry.
What information should you prepare?
Prepare proposed business names, a clear description of your intended activities and details of the people who will own, manage or represent the business. Think through the business address, contact information and ownership arrangements. The exact documents, signatures and certifications depend on the structure and current official requirements.
Use the Requirements Centre to find the checklist for the service you are considering. A checklist is a preparation aid, not a guarantee that the authority will not request additional information. Do not send identity documents, portal passwords or unrelated personal records in an initial general enquiry.
How much does company registration cost?
There is no single quotation that fits every business. Ask for a written scope showing the professional service fee separately from applicable authority fees, third-party costs and optional work. Confirm whether items such as tax support or company-profile design are included, excluded or quoted separately.
ITM Business Solutions assesses your request before preparing a written quotation. No payment is requested until you approve that quotation. Comparing the scope and exclusions is more useful than comparing an unexplained headline price. Read the Terms and Conditions before agreeing to a paid engagement.
What happens after you request help?
Describe your intended outcome and provide initial organisation information. A consultant checks the proposed route, identifies missing requirements and confirms the work to be quoted. You can ask questions about the deliverables, costs and responsibilities before approving the quotation.
For agreed registration work, information and documents must be prepared accurately and the required authority process followed. The relevant authority decides whether to accept or query a submission. An enquiry reference is not a registration certificate, and a service provider cannot guarantee an authority decision or a fixed completion date.
Registration and tax compliance are different tasks
Company registration does not automatically resolve every tax, employer, procurement or licensing obligation. Assess what applies to the activities you actually carry out and the people you employ, rather than buying an identical bundle for every organisation.
Our tax and fiscal compliance services cover enquiries about taxpayer records, returns, VAT and fiscalisation. TIN and tax-clearance support and tax returns submission are separate service enquiries. Where you employ staff, ask about NSSA and employer compliance. Requirements depend on current rules and your circumstances.
Keep records and plan the next review
Keep copies of final registration documents, approved particulars, receipts and relevant correspondence. Record important obligations and ask who is responsible for each next action. Tell the relevant service provider when ownership, activities or contact details change.
If you intend to supply customers through tenders, explore tender and supplier registration support. If your activities require a licence, explore business and operator licences. Neither company registration nor supplier registration guarantees that you will win business.
Check official requirements before acting
The Ministry of Justice department responsible for Deeds, Companies and Intellectual Property provides the official registration context. For tax processes and current notices, consult the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority. ITM Business Solutions is an independent support provider, not either authority.
This guide is general preparation information. It does not publish an official fee schedule, fixed processing time or personalised legal or tax advice. Verify the current position for your intended service before making a submission.
Request a written quotation
Tell us whether you are starting a new business or updating an existing organisation, what you intend to do and which outcome you need. You can begin without an account, documents or payment. A consultant will review the request before recommending paid work.
